China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group (CISRI) is the largest comprehensive R&D organization in China specializing in metallurgy industry. It is also a large technical-oriented enterprise under the direct administration of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), China.
    New Metallurgy Hi-Tech Group (NMT) is founded in 1993 and became a limited company co-founded by 10 research organizations including CISRI and controlled by CISRI in 2000. In the first year NMT opened, the contract sum reached 315 million RMB.
    Metal Working Department which is established by NMT specializes in steel rolling project. Metal Working Department has long been active in the material processing field, and makes innovative progress in production and technology every year. It always keeps close intact and cooperation with iron & steel, railway, construction, traffic, current material and other fast developing industries at home and abroad in research and development of new material. Technology leaders are experienced senior engineers, and specialized technical personnel have experience of fieldwork for years and innovation ability. The department can carry out research and development for processing, designing and manufacturing, installing and testing, and after-sale service as the general contractor.
    Metal Working Department has developed the production line of high tensile packing strap and applied for national patent of invention. The first line was built in Tangshan Iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd and passed the acceptance test successfully. The strap is fit for manual, semiautomatic and automatic packing. A great deal of straps are used in Jianlong Iron & Steel Group, Tangshan Hot Rolled Sheet Factory, Tangshan Stainless Steel Ltd, Tianjin Seamless Tube Ltd, and other companies instead of straps imported from Korea, Japan and U.S. Therefore, those companies save much money every year. The product is up to the YB/T025-2002 standard, ASTM-D-3953 standard, A5 DIN 50114 standard and JISG3141 standard. Compared with other like product, it has better performance, lower price and higher safety factor.
Major projects of the Metal Working Department include: high tensile packing strap production line, PC bar production line, flattening rolling mill for steel sheet, straightening & transecting & stacking production line for plate coil, slitting & rewinding production line for plate coil and oil quenching & tempering production line for spring wire.
